Changes to Employer's PRSI

1. The lower empoyers' PRSI rate is being halved from 8.5% to 4.25%.  There are no chnages to the threshold - thefore the new reduced rate willl aplly to all workers (current or new) on earnings of less than 365 europ per week or 9.13 euro per hour.  This change will help to sustain jobs in the labour-intensive domestically training sector by directly reducing the  cost of employing someone. This change is effective from 1 July 2011 to 31st December 2013.

2. The government reversed its budget 2011 decision which imposed the full employer charge of 10.75% on share benefits to employees.
