In September 2025, IHF President Mark O’Keeffe, alongside board members Lisa Eccles and Ciara Dorrington, met with TDs Michael Collins, Richard O’Donoghue and Ken O’Flynn of the Independent Party.

The meeting focused on:

• Reinforcing the importance of retaining the 9% VAT rate for hairdressing

• Highlighting the key asks outlined in the Federation’s Pre-Budget Submission

• Communicating the pressures facing salon owners and employers nationwide

This engagement formed part of the Federation’s ongoing political outreach in advance of Budget 2026.
