As part of the Federation’s ongoing advocacy for the reinstatement of the 9% VAT rate, we delivered a social media campaign highlighting the pressures facing salon businesses across Ireland. Through short video messages, salon owners shared first-hand accounts of rising costs, shrinking margins and the limited capacity to absorb further increases without affecting prices, staffing or business viability.

The campaign highlighted the real risk to local employment and community-based businesses if targeted supports such as the 9% VAT rate are not maintained.
